Vintage Lesbian Pop Psychology at its best! Originally written in the 1950's by a male academic who serves up hilariously bone-headed conclusions, LESBIAN LOVE can easily be read as High Camp. But once you get past the author's obsession with replacement phalluses, there are more than enough obscure historical references and sociological factoids to make an interesting read. Scattered glimmers of consciousness do break through: he argues that Lesbian history is almost totally lost because women and their achievements have been so thoroughly erased from history, a decidedly enlightened view for mid-20th century Eastern Europe.
